Project BL (SNCB):
I therefore present to you the 2-stroke type B diesel engine developed by Moës.It This engine has been used to power several types of locomotives, including the DL 13, which is a surface version based on a Bl locomotive, as well as the DLG13, which is a gallery version. Moës also used this engine to make standard gauge shunters under the name LM13. In addition to its use in locomotives, the D13 engine has also been used in stationary applications, such as generator sets.
Currently, we have in our possession three Moës BL locomotives that are undergoing preliminary restoration. One of these locomotives is the SNCB version, which differs slightly from the basic version. It was about to finish its restoration when unfortunately we were faced with an unpleasant situation: some people stole essential components of its engine, including the Bosch PF1 injection pump, mechanical lubricator and injector. Fortunately, we had in reserve a mechanical lubricator. However, the search for stolen parts, namely the Bosch PF1 injection pump and the injector, has been going on for a full year now.
