DLM 1 ex No 13 charbonnage du Hasard:

In 1936, Moës developed a 4-stroke Type D diesel engine specially designed for use in locomotives for underground service in mines. This engine was equipped with an anti-flamming device and an exhaust gas cleaning system called "water lock". Locomotives equipped with these engines were designated as DLM for mine machinery, DL for surface versions and DLG for roadway versions. The Moës locomotives were also used for the remotorization of other existing machines, with engines ranging from 1 to 6 cylinders and developing from 12 to 84 horsepower, depending on the engine model and the number of cylinders.

Here you can find a DLM1 type Moës locomotive from the Hasard collieries, which was involved in a frontal accident with a locomotive of the higher model (DLM2). Following this accident, the machine did not go down to the bottom and remained on the surface at the forges for the handling of the cars. The Moës locomotives have therefore been used in mines for various transport and handling applications, and they have been widely used in Belgium and other mining countries around the world.

I present you a Moës locomotive type DLM1, built in the 50s at the Moës workshop in Waremme. This locomotive is equipped with a 14-horsepower single-cylinder engine and has a mass of 4700 kg. It is designed to operate on a track gauge of 60 cm, making it suitable for use in narrow environments such as mines. Moës locomotives were widely used in coal mines in Belgium and other mining countries around the world for various transport and handling applications.
