Project  DL13:

I present you the 4-stroke diesel engine type D13 developed by Moës. This is an improvement of the D1 engine, with a larger displacement, which allows to obtain a higher power. This engine was used to power several types of locomotives, including the DL 13, which is a surface version based on a Bl locomotive, as well as the DLG13, which is a version for galleries. Moës also used this engine to manufacture normal track locomotives under the name LM13. In addition to its use in locomotives, the D13 engine has also been used in stationary applications, such as generators.

We had the chance to recover the engine of this locomotive, because its owner wanted to modernize its machine using a newer engine. Since we have a Moës BL without engine, we have a project to rebuild this machine, which is the only one of this type that we know. This locomotive weighs 3 tons and is equipped with a 20 horsepower engine.
